The Historical Challenges of Evolutionary Ideas

Lesson two will challenge us to review the social climate and challenges confronting Evolutionary Ideas of Alfred Wallace in the 1800's. We will peer into the religious, political, and social challenges confronting Alfred Wallace and his Zoological Theory. Why were evolutionist theorist viewed negatively during this time peroid? What was the rhetoric of social, political and religious institutions during this time peroid?

Come to class prepared to explore the historical challenges of evolution through the lens of history. We will explore this challenging times using PBS videos, graphic organizer about the historical timeline, and create a SPAWN Video presentation summarizing our historical understanding.
